Longbridge sits at the southern edge of Birmingham, and the A38 Bristol Road runs straight from Longbridge down into Bromsgrove in about 10 minutes. The former Austin Rover plant, now the Longbridge Technology Park and retail development around the MG Motor UK site, is the area's dominant landmark. The Longbridge and Rednal population has a high proportion of EV and hybrid vehicles — the new-build development around the old factory site has attracted buyers who commute into Birmingham and favour alternatively-fuelled vehicles for the city portion of their journeys.
