- Can I drive with a cracked windscreen?
- A crack in Zone A (directly in the driver's sight line, roughly 290mm wide) is an immediate MOT fail and a legal risk to drive with. Cracks elsewhere depend on length and spread. If in doubt, call us — we'll tell you whether to drive in or arrange collection.
- Does insurance cover windscreen replacement?
- Most comprehensive policies include glass cover, sometimes under a separate lower excess. You claim directly with your insurer; we provide the receipt and documentation you need.
- How long does a windscreen replacement take?
- Typically one to two hours for the fit, plus a curing period before the car is safe to drive. We give you a confirmed safe drive-away time when you collect — usually a minimum of one hour after fitting.
- Will a chip repair be visible afterwards?
- Resin injection fills the void and is polished flush. On most chips it is very difficult to see once cured. Larger chips may still show a faint mark, but the structural integrity is restored and the damage will not spread.
- How much does windscreen replacement cost?
- It depends on your vehicle — glass prices vary significantly by make, model, and whether sensors or heated elements are involved. Contact us with your registration and we will give you a quote before you commit.
- Do I need ADAS camera recalibration after windscreen replacement?
- Many modern cars have a forward-facing camera mounted to or near the windscreen. If your car has lane assist, automatic emergency braking, or similar systems, recalibration may be needed. We will advise based on your specific vehicle when you contact us.
